Well a Happy New Year to all and what a cracking start to the New Year it was. A cold day with little wind but everyone warmed up pretty quick a few good casts under their belts. Distances were down a little on previous events but this was due to conditions rather than too much Christmas turkey. And with lots of presents to be had in our fun day raffle it looked as if Santa had paid a visit to the field.
A good humoured battle was had between a few of the casters swapping the lead a few times before Christian Brayley topped out with a cast over 223m to take top spot. Showing that even after almost a year out of competition what a great caster he is.

The oche of the northern was covered with water and could not to cast.
All the casts undertaken by southern oche of the field with headwind 5 km/h.

alle 6:30 di stamattina tirava giù tanta di quell'acqua che mentre caricavo bandiere piombi e il resto avevo quasi le lacrime agli occhi
non mi butto giù più di tanto e dal fascio di canne scelgo le predestinate di oggi
Penn PPT Pendulum per il 150gr e M427 HiFLlex per il 175gr
arrivato a Rocchetta miracolo vuole che non piove ma c'è quell'aria baganta che appena ti inumidisce la faccia e i vestiti

neanche il tempo di montare le bandiere ed ecco una bella pioggia battente e regolare
ci sediamo sotto gli ombrelloni e ci guardiamo in faccia perplessi ad attendere

ma dopo una ventina di minuti smette e rimane solo quell'acquetta non preoccupante ma solo fastidiosa e vento completamente inesistente
ok cominciamo
i primi tiri del 150gr si svolgono sotto l'acqua e poi miracolosamente smettono anche quelle poche gocce
con il 175gr ecco che arriva un nodo e mezzo di vento.................perpendicolare alla pedana ahahahahaha
da segnalare unicamente il PB nei 175gr di Pierpaolo GRIFFO (bravo Crhiiiiiiiiisssss)..............poi il nulla, ma divertimento che ci avanzava da tutte le tasche
sempre un infinito ed immenso GRAZIE a Renato TAGLIABO' ed a tutto il CNDF che ci segue in quest'avventura del Long Casting Ligure

Results from 'Silly Day' at Steyning

As most know, on the weekend before we travelled to France for the Worlds, the England team and a couple of other locals met at Steyning for a final practice/ tune up .
A full court was set up and all distances were officially recorded under Tournament conditions
the format for the day was 4 casts on each lead, 100 through to 175, followed by a couple of casts on any lead
Conditions were perfect, the casters were fully primed and ready to go and the distances were ............SILLY

Many thanks to the 16 casters that attended.Conditions were good, especially early on with 10 - 15mph Northerly winds but by about lunchtime the wind had shifted easterly somewhat meaning that anything but a cast hard down the right was pointless.

Well done to Alan Varley who just pipped Steve Lewis for the bragging rights.

Also well done to those who managed PB's especially to Matt James who cast an impressive 233 metres despite this only being his 5th Tournament

Thanks also go to Hugh at MIGHTY BRITE for providing us with some prizes for the day. The centreline prize (T-Shirt) went to Tony Jones. The other prizes including the impressive Protective Tripod Foam and Rod tip tape were won by various other casters with the 'best cock up' honours going to Howard Bishop who cast the tip of his rod and impressive 30 metres down court

The members turned up to a sunny day and still air.Conditions were hard with winds picking up slightly to around 6mph with pressure rising however that did not stop Matt "The Bass" James 231.2.1 and John Barnes 181.2.0 both hitting their PBs,well done to both.Back to his old form and good to see was Josh Evans pushing for the win,hopefully he will continue this form into next year.Well done all and see you at the next one!

Queriacomentarles algo de lo vivido ayer en Pereyra donde nos juntamos con el unicofin de homenajear a un GRANDE como lo es JOSE LUIS DAQUINO.

Serealizaron dos pruebas 125 y 150 grs.con la participación de aprox. 26 tiradores . Y fue organizado por el Club Valentin Alsina.

Enprincipio queria felicitar a Boby , Mujica , Posseti quienes en conjunto con ungrupo de colaboradores fueron los quellevaron adelante el evento , saludar tambien a la gente de la cantina(ESPECTACULAR).

Como yanos tiene acostumbrado queria felicitar a Roberto Frigo , nuestro animalito,quien fue el ganador en 150 grs. y ademas se hizo suya la COPA JOSE DAQUINO por la sumatoria de metros en las dos cat;tambien felicitar a Papu ganador en 125grs. , a Miguel Lindner quien se quedo con el 2º puesto en la general , a Nachoganador de los dos plomos en cat 1º (gran dolor de cabeza , ja ja ja) , a Emanuel Palacios ganador delos dos plomos en cat 2º , a Aldo Barea y a Fijalka ganadores en cat seniors.

Unparrafo aparte para la gran promesa del Lanzamiento como lo es LautaritoAspiroz quien torneo a torneo nosdeslumbra y se lleva el aplauso de todoslos tiradores.

Many thanks to the 36 casters who took part todays competition. It was great to see so many there especially those who had travelled from as far as Ireland and the NW of England

Conditions were mostly dry with a nice wind that built to approx 15mph albeit hard down the left hand side of court

July 25th Results.

Conditions – Wind SW\NW Variable. 5-10mph, Dry - 19 casters.

Some good distances were achieved in at times, very hot and humid conditions with a varying cross wind.

Well done to Jason in casting the furthest and also creating a new club 175gr record.

Also well done to Derek reaching a new PB.

Our next tournament is on Sunday 8th August.

Any help would be most appreciated in helping to lay out the court.

Conditions – Wind variable SSW 0-5mph, Sunny - 34 casters.

Records tumbled as Mr Boyt did the business with the furthest cast ever at Norton,

with relative new boy Jason Carter not far behind.

It was astonishing that such distances would be reached with only a light breeze and temps up in the 30s all day.

The heat was such that several casters left early (maybe some to watch the football).

Also well done to all those others gaining PBs,

amongst them Didier Laroy who came across from the continent with a party of seven other casters.

JP Debrie won the French title last weekend confirming his form as the leading caster in France this year. He set the pace with the first cast of the competition, and never lost control. Saturday saw the 125gr and then the 100gr castin windy but difficult conditions. He finished the day holding a 9m advantage over Fabrice Roehrig in 2nd place, with Stephane Moulin in 3rd. Dédé, like many struggled with the 100gr in the conditions, and was lying in 5th place behind Olivier Folcke.
Sunday saw a determined Fabrice closing the gap to about 2m on the 150gr during the rounds, before JP clawed some ground back on the last cast of the day. The day had started with 3 casts with the 175gr (not counting for the title) for those aiming for team selection and others who fancied giving a swing.
The competition was nearly flooded off on Saturday. Due to problems of access to the usual casting fields, the event was held on the beach. When asked about problems with the incoming tide, we were told that the tide only comes up this far once or twice a year. Half way through the last round with the 125gr, we had to abandon the court. The tide being pushed by a very strong wind made an unwanted appearance.

Australian Championship Comp 13th June @ Lancefield - Result

The day that greeted the casters wasn’t the best that Victoria can offer with a cloudy overcast day with cold south to south west wind making itself felt not because of the strength of it but by the way it cut through the warmth and made you realise that we are now into winter. Thankfully for all concerned the rain that threatened all day did not eventuate and we were able to have a great but difficult days casting with the lead changing places during the course of the day.

Conditions – Wind NW 5-15mph, Dry, rain for an hour - 26 casters.
For most of the day wind was 5 to 10mph and quite often across court, then at about 3-30 it rained for about three quarters of an hour when over half went home then the rain stopped and the wind picked up strength so casting went on until 7pm but only 3 casters improved with the extra wind and that was the top 3

The forecast 15mph winds failed to materialise early and the casters were greeted with little or no wind when they arrive
When the wind did finally pick up, it was hard down the left of court and stayed there for most of the day, only swinging into court for 2 -3 rounds mid-afternoon

Well we had a very interesting day down here in sunny old Victoria. The day was cold and clear in the morning with the drive down seeing us going into the valley shrouded in fog. On the other side it was a completely different sight with clear blue skies and not a breath of wind to even rustle what little grass there was on the field. There were cobwebs all across the field which gave off a strange reflection in the early morning sun as the dew dried , this was also to prove to be a nuisance with it sticking to the lines and therefore effect the way it went Through the air. Wind was a north North Easterly or what you would call wind.
